Josephine holds the Alfredo Piatti Chair of cello at the Royal Academy of Music, London. She has held principal cello positions with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and English Chamber Orchestra and has regularly played guest principal with the London Symphony, London Philharmonic and the Philharmonia Orchestra as well as the Royal Opera House London. As a soloist and chamber artist Josephine performs at all the most prestigious Festivals worldwide including Schleswig-Holstein, Schloss Elmau, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Gstaad, Savannah, Cheltenham and Bath. She performs as a soloist with major orchestras in the UK and abroad and has recently released a disc featuring three World Premiere’s: Schumann Cello Concerto (Concertstück) and Piatti Cello Concertos for Dutton Vocalion. Her edition of the Schumann will be published by Edition Peters and will be the first published edition of the original version.
