Hello! I’m Jeff Segal and I would love to meet you and be part of your musical journey.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have many different careers. As an orchestral musician, I was principal trumpet in the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, I performed all over Europe and in the United States. As a chamber musician I was a member of various brass quintets and baroque trumpet ensembles. I was a trumpet and chamber music teacher at the Basel Conservatorium and the Sion International Music Academy.
But that’s just the start. I’ve taught Tai Chi all over the world, worked as a Chinese Medicine practitioner, and taught science, maths and French as a high school and primary school teacher. I also love speaking German, Swiss German, French, Spanish and a little bit of Mandarin Chinese.
After a long break from playing, I’ve fallen in love with the trumpet again, and I would love to share that passion with you. My style of teaching is informed by all of my many life experiences and my deep understanding of how people learn. No matter what stage you are at with your playing, from beginner to professional, I’d love to meet you, hear you play, and help you reach your musical goals. My free 15-minute introductory session is the perfect way for us to meet.
