Hi, I'm Sharon Roffman, leader of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Originally from a suburb of New York City, I have performed all over the world as a guest concertmaster of the London Symphony Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony, the BBC Philharmonic, Estonian National Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre d'Auvergne, Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, principal 2nd of Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and the Estonian Festival Orchestra and a guest member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Mahler Chamber Orchestra. I was "violon solo" of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse from 2016-2017 and a member of Orchestre National de France from 2009-2011. As a chamber musician, I've collaborated with members of the Guarneri Quartet, Juilliard Quartet, Brentano Quartet and more, and spent several summers performing at the Marlboro Music Festival. I'm passionate about education and have developed several online curricula introducing school students to music through interdisciplinary connections. I love that music is a universal way to communicate.
I'm looking forward to taking your violin playing to the next level and/or helping you find your own path to make music an integral part of your life! All levels welcome.
