Cellist Ben Fried enjoys a versatile career as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. He has performed solo recitals and chamber music in prestigious venues across the globe including Carnegie Hall, New World Center, Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall, Harbin Conservatory Music Hall, Warsaw Philharmonic Recital Hall, Royal Danish Conservatory Recital Hall, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Ravinia Festival's Bennet Gordon Recital Hall, and the Musikhuset Aarhus. He was a gold medalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the USC Bach Competition, the Eastman Concerto Competition, the James Glacking Music Competition, and a prizewinner in the Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition. He is an artist in residence for the Heifetz International Music Institute and Vicente Chamber Orchestra.


Mr. Fried has several of the most renown pedagogues in the world, including Andrew Shulman, Timothy Eddy, Steven Doane, and Hans Jensen.  An extremely dedicated teacher himself, he uses an instinctive, focused, and disciplined approach to achieve consistent results from his students. He is near completion of his Doctorate in Cello Performance from the University of Southern California.
